dreamy image

an inspiring tutorial found over at Pugly Pixel.

I first experimented with photoshop about 7 years ago, since I'm self taught, I know only bits & pieces, never fully utilizing all the tools. I mainly learned through trial & error and google has been my best teacher on this.

I'm impatient, rarely ever following a tutorial to the end, but this was just 'wow', it's an effect I have been wanting to know but never got around to learning it.

I just spent the last 15 minutes watching this, all I need now is find time to put this into practice...

rest

♥ The Book Bed!   more funky beds can be seen here

I'm so glad tomorrow's appointment is cancelled, yay! Just as well as I'm feeling a bit under the weather right now, muscle aches are not fun :(

Good thing I have wrapped up most of my local custom orders, with only 1 last blue bracelet to make, after that I should hope to snuggle in bed with a good book in hand.

Can't wait...

wallpaper// january

I have a little fascination with desktop wallpapers, I mean they are the easiest to change with a click, plenty of designs to choose from & most importantly, free!

Last year, I had monthly calender wallpapers.
I didn't post the December one here, it was in soft, milky blue with snowflakes all over, very soothing design.
(note: I always borrow my brother's computer so when I talk about the wallpapers, it means on his desktop, which he isn't too pleased about, claiming my choices are too girly & too 'me')

Have been busy this whole January that I didn't have time browsing for a new one, was glad when I stumbled upon some Fossil goodness via Danni's blog.

I'm currently using this:

pretty?

I decided to be a lil more considerate this time (ha!), picking something that might interest my lil brother instead of these two:

actually, if the birdies are on the right, I would use this right away!

diy clock

I'll be moving to a new home sometime next year, renovation work has just started so I still have plenty of time to plan out my room's furniture & designs. The only thing I have decided as of now is the wall colour - a light shade of peach!

I have got to figure out the layout of my crafting area too (of utmost importance!), it has to have a huge workspace for all my beading & sewing needs.

Here's one that I like, white furniture sure looks good but with the amount of dust here in malaysia, I would have to wipe them very often, not very practical IMO.

from oh, hello friend

Big matters aside, little things like a diy clock is up on my list too.

tutorial here
I'm so glad to have found this, saves all my time & effort in looking for a clock that matches as I can customize it entirely on my own.

The tutorial looks simple enough, but I dare not say it would turn up successful, we shall see when the house is ready next year ;)

Got a new wallpaper, yay, a pretty desktop makes me happy :)
Found this over at oh, hello friend.

sewing pattern

I have not touched my sewing machine for a whole 2 months now, yikes!
I found a pattern I like over at Burda, see if you can guess what it is ;)

If this turns out successful I'll definitely post it here, but seeing that my sewing skills are amateur-ish, I'm actually in doubt. Good thing I have my mum to help me :)

The pattern photo I have taken was so boring that I had to add some photoshop effects to it, so if you are wondering where I got the polaroid photo frame, hop over HERE. Awesome site with lots of cool textures, vectors & brushes.
(those sticky tapes are from there too!)

they have got zippers also:
I love these! No idea why I would need them though!

Here's another site with yummy freebies: PuglyPixel. Note the deco tapes :)
Click on this link if you would like some flower cabochon clip arts.
Have fun!
