many hearts

love: heart pendants :)

I first used this heart link in this bracelet, liked it so much that I ordered in a huge bulk (just a small portion photographed here), I think I went overboard because now my drawer is overflowing with these lovely hearts....
(another voice in my head defensively says pretty things are for keeps!)

But the good thing is I can now make interlocked necklaces that I have been dreaming about, no need to skimp or keep counting if I have enough for other projects :)
Here are the pieces I worked on during the weekend, I made it in 2 different lengths since I can't decide which one I like better...

a tangled mess

As much as I like jewellery making, there is one thing that I am not fond of - untangling this ball on chain!

I buy my supplies in bulk so this is how chains come in (it was an even bigger ball, I have untangled about half of it before this photo was taken)
I'm using this chain mainly for necklaces, rushing to cut as many as I can for a range of necklaces that will be sent to the local boutique where my pieces are showcased :)
I'll be posting the photos of  the necklaces at the boutique tomorrow!

treasure chest

How pretty is this? I was certainly lucky to have found this palm size treasure chest snugly hidden in a home deco store.

The size is perfect to display bracelets in my retail store, was so glad I managed to get this it (it was the last one, or else I would have bought a couple more!)

Close Up
I love its wooden, rough finishing :)

I used it temporarily to store jewellery materials that I was going to work on, these eventually became charm bracelets.
(21 of them, but I forgot to take pics of the finished pieces, they are all at my retail store right now!)

Here are a couple of charms that I really like.
Especially my latest loot- the 3D teapot in the center ;)

With this last photo, I'm joining the 'much love monday' fun

have a great week ahead!

silver balls

mmmm..... I'm loving this!

Shiny silver metal beads, in sizes 4, 6 & 10.
I first tried my hands with size 6, they proved too delicious that I just had to have more!
Sizes 4 & 10 arrived yesterday and I have been oooh-ing & aaah-ing over them ;)

favourite things

I was just going to work on a couple of local orders, fumbled through bead boxes and got out the necessary parts. And then it struck me, hey... these are like a summary of what I'm into right now so I quickly snapped a shot:

Pink, floral, heart, sparrow & a hint of gold, what's not to love about these? ;)

the shiny bits

I don't know about you, but I have been seeing many grecian goddess inspired fashion pieces lately. You know, those Cleopatra-ish bold gold chains?
Well, I wanted to have my take at it too and here are my materials:

Not exactly keeping to the theme, right? ;)

Mainly due to the fact that I don't have many gold coloured beads (time to do some bead shopping?), I chose only base metal colours- silver, gunmetal & gold with a couple of pointy swirl charms.
There is another huge thick & relatively heavy pendant too (tribal-looking design!) which isn't pictured here.

This necklace is still a work in progress, some tweaking here & there is needed to perfect the design, which will have to wait till tomorrow.
I'm rushing off for a movie date with my sister tonight & have planned to list 1 new item before leaving the house. The 'made in february' section in my store looks a bit bare, when compared to 18 pieces in January.

Gotta buck up a bit for this month!

having way too much!

I was working on a necklace the other day and couldn't find the filigree I wanted. I searched through boxes and boxes for a whole 10 minutes before finding it in my toggle & chain box.... I have always prided myself on being able to remember where I kept every single item, to the smallest beads! Daddy said this to me many times 'You must have really good memory to remember all this!', to which I would smile proudly at him.

the filigrees I was looking for, hidden snugly at the bottom of the box!
necklace made, can be seen HERE

Guess this time my 'pride bubble' has burst! ;)
and an indication that I should probably control my bead hoarding business, haha
but isn't that what all beaders do? we accumulate & heap up all the time!

Speaking of that, I have gotten some new toggles to add to my stockpile!

my favourite of the lot are the ones on the bottom left.
=)

oh gosh, just remembered I have a parcel at post office yet to be collected...
more hoarding, I never seem to learn, yikes!
